RKS has vast experience in Research & Development, as well as testing of sealants & adhesives (including construction products), pressure sensitive tapes and adhesives and carbon fibre prepregs.

Our test laboratory can offer advice, testing and certification for the newly released Harmonised Standard EN 15651, developed based on the ISO 11600, which requires all UK manufacturers of sealants to CE mark their products.

RKS as a supplier to the Consumer Association is used to and has always flawlessly handled multi-company benchmarking and testing needs with complete confidentiallity.
Our UKAS accreditation to ISO 17025 also provides additional benefit of independent, impartial and quality results recognised and accepted all around the world.


Adhesives, pressure sensitive tapes and composites testing - tack measurement

RKS's experts have closely worked with the Ministry of Defence to develop a method and test equipment for carbon fibre prepregs (pre impregnated composites).

Our team has designed a unique tack testing machine which can be used as a research & development tool and of course for testing purposes.
The developed test method has been UKAS accredited, and is based on a ASTM D2979, therefore the results are accepted world wide.

DataTac Evolution V, is the 5th generation of the equipment.
Designed specifically to meet the requirements of users of materials where surface tack is a critical feature, it provides precise measurement of surface tack for many materials including prepregs, adhesive films and tapes, pressure sensitive tapes and labels.
Used in the aeronautical industry since the 1980’s, DataTac can now be connected to any PC running Microsoft Windows, allowing fast and accurate results to be displayed and analysed on screen.
